One of my ideas for this site was posting a “picture of the day” from time to time – not each day, as I don’t shoot (stuff worth publishing) each day, but at least a few times a week so I stay motivated to look out for interesting subjects.

As my wife and son are off visiting the grandparents this week and the weather is rather dull, I only have myself to shoot. So here it is, the picture of today: “Self-portrait with camera, #2” (#1 is the one in the header and on the “About” page), featuring myself, my Olympus PEN E-P1 (which is decorated by a wonderful Aki Asahi leatherette body kit) + the Helios Multifinder MkII viewfinder, which I am slowly learning to appreciate.

Originally I wasn’t going to post this version, which actually came to be by accident when I tried to enhance contrast a bit and the sliders slipped out of my hand. But then I found this looking quite artistic, so here it is
