Sony recently released firmware v03 for their mirrorless interchangeable-lens NEX cameras. The new firmware adresses several issues that were criticized by reviews and early adopters alike. Among other software changes, the main improvements over the earlier firmware are:

• Autofocus support for selected A-mount (reflex) lenses
• Customizable soft keys (the soft keys were earlier fixed in function depending on shooting mode or menu page)
• Aperture priority (user-selectable aperture setting) in video recording mode
• MF assist finally added, displaying a magnified portion of the image in manual focus mode
