PAD #81 | “17”

Today, I was looking for textures. This old fence had lots of.

Also today, my wife had her final exam for her oncology qualification, which she passed of course. Congratulations!

PAD #80 | “Powerful light”

Some powerful light was hitting the old university building just when the traffic lights across turned red, so I quickly snapped this one out of my car. Rarely ever got a picture this perfectly com- and exposed by just pointing and shooting …

PAD #78 | “Holger Schaumann”

Somebody lost their black, “Holger Schaumann” (probably a local business) labelled cap, on a hedge next to the daycare place where Emil has been going this week. I noticed it when I picked him up today. Only a few meters away, somebody had lost their gloves, which were all dirty and wet and had probably been lying there for some days.

One thing I like about my E-P1 is how great its JPEG output is. The colours are simply brilliant and extremely accurate, and with a little tweaking of the settings and careful exposure you get pictures that need no further processing. In fact, I have rarely been working with raw files from the E-P1 lately.

PAD #77 | “Cookie season”

My wife’s been baking cookies today, filled with red currant jam. They’re going to stay in a box until they develop their full flavour — but they look tasty already!

I really need to get a small “studio” so I can properly shoot stuff like this …

Picture of the day | November 27th, 2011

Emil and Jasmin have been decorating the christmas tree today — our first one ever!

This reminds me of something — I still can’t get why Olympus, creating a camera as highly customizeable as the E-P1, never thought of integrating an option for setting a custom slowest shutter speed. This picture could’ve easily been taken at 1/20 second with the help of the image stabilizer (which I have always activated).
