Picture of the day (March 24, 2010)

Today, a picture of the moon, crescent, as observed from our moon observation station (i. e. balcony) last night. I used my longest lens currently available – the OM 50/1.8 @ f/4 to get the sharpest possible image. The moon was very small as it was high up in the sky, so this is actually a 100% crop from the center of the image.

Picture(s) of the day (March 6, 2010)

I just went through one of my memory cards that has been lying around with dozens of unprocessed pictures on it. Stumbled upon these and thought I’d share them. They were taken back in January, in a local restaurant called “Café 1900”. They change their wall decoration every now and then, this time they had violins and some modern art. Also, they easily make the best casseroles in town!

In late december 2009, my dear friend Erik from Boston came to Germany for a visit, and we met in Cologne. One thing we did was visiting the cathedral, and of course we couldn’t resist taking a bunch of snaps :-)
